Who operates Broadcasters
Broadcasters is operated by Jacob MacDermott (“we”). For privacy or account questions, contact macdermott.jacob@gmail.com.
Information the app uses
- Account details: email address, account ID, password authentication handled by our account provider, username, account type, and account creation information.
- Profile details: profile photos you choose, your theme and background, and the song titles and artists you enter.
- Connections and safety: friend requests and connections, blocks, live-room and co-host details, and reports you submit, including their category, reason, and time.
- Audio you choose to share: when you turn on the microphone during a live broadcast, the microphone audio is sent to the live room. If you load a local track or soundboard clip into a live mix, the app uploads the file for delivery to that room. The app also uses microphone input locally for its level meter when you choose that control.
- Live-room messages and controls: comments and mixer settings are sent to people in the connected room in real time. The current app code keeps comments in the active session and does not save them in the app database.
Who can see information
Your username, theme, background, profile photos, and top-song details are used to present your profile and live-room card to other signed-in users. Profile photos are stored using publicly readable image links. Friend relationships and blocks are limited to the accounts involved. People who join a live room can hear the audio shared there; they may independently record or capture what they hear.
Microphone and live audio
Microphone access is requested when you turn on the microphone feature. When you use only the local meter, the app measures the level on your device and does not intentionally send that input to a room. During a broadcast, audio is transmitted to room participants while you have the microphone enabled. The current app code does not include a broadcast recording feature. The production live-audio service has not yet been deployed, so its processing and retention settings must be confirmed before release.
Music and recording rights: Broadcasters does not own or claim rights to music or other third-party audio you choose to play or share. You are responsible for obtaining the permissions needed to broadcast, reproduce, distribute, or record that content. Copyright or other applicable rules may restrict recording, copying, or redistribution; unauthorized use may result in removal, account restrictions, claims, or legal penalties.
How information is used
We use the information above to create and secure accounts, show profiles, connect friends, run live rooms, deliver user-selected audio, receive safety reports, provide support, and maintain the service.
Service providers
The app is configured to use Supabase for account authentication, app records, and file storage. A LiveKit live-audio service is planned but is not deployed yet. This pre-launch website preview is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which receives web requests when you visit it; its exact request-log retention settings still need review. Apple or Google may also process information under their own terms when you download or use the app through their platforms. The final production provider list and settings must be confirmed before this draft is published as the final policy.
Retention and deletion
Account information is kept while your account is active. You can delete your account in the app under Settings → Account deletion → Delete account, or start a request from the account deletion page. The app’s deletion routine removes the account and its associated profile records and user-owned profile-photo and track files. Production deletion must be tested against every service used before launch. Provider backups or security logs may persist under the provider’s retention settings; the final retention periods have not yet been verified.
Your choices
You can edit or remove profile details in the app, choose whether to share microphone audio, block other users, report an account or broadcast, sign out, or request account deletion. You can also manage microphone and photo permissions in your device settings.
Children
The intended age range and child-safety settings must be confirmed before release. Do not publish this draft until that launch decision has been made.
Changes and contact
We will update this policy when the production service setup or data practices change. Questions can be sent to macdermott.jacob@gmail.com.
